As a grower, one of the toughest decisions we face each spring is how much risk to take when it comes to fertilizer. With rising prices, unpredictable weather, and the challenge of applying salt-based fertilizers right with the seed and simply hoping for the best, it’s a constant balancing act.

This year, we decided it was time to rethink our approach. Instead of front-loading fertilizer at seeding, we wanted to be more strategic, applying crop nutrients foliarly throughout the season based on weather conditions.

That’s when we came across Vantage Ag’s new Quantum Ag Technologies on social media this winter. After learning more and having some great conversations with the Vantage Ag team, we were excited to see how this new technology could fit into and benefit our farm operation.

We decided that we would target 45 bu/ac Durum. The blend we put down at seeding was 65-25-5. When the Durum was in the 4-5 leaf stage, we used Vantage Ag’s Sub-Nano N, P, K, and S at the following rates: 500mL/ac N, 200mL/ac P, 250mL/ac K, and 65mL/ac S.

After combining the Durum, we were blown away by the results. We averaged 70 bu/ac with an average bushel weight of 65lbs. These new products from Vantage Ag have changed the way we farm. They have helped us reduce our risk, reduce our expenses, and we’ve achieved higher yields.

After seeing the results, we’re excited to expand the use of this technology across more acres next season.
