We knew that this new technology was something that could drastically reduce our risk and at the same time increase our efficiency.  By reducing the upfront granular fertilizer load we were able to increase our acres seeded per day, reduce trucking and storage costs and reduce our risk if the growing season was not favorable.   We also see long term advantages of adding less salt to the soil; not reducing our soil pH and seeing better seed germination.

We applied a blend of 40-20-0-0 @ 116 lbs per acre on all of our wheat and canola, we added Vantage Ag’s liquid products @ 500 mL N, 350 mL P, 350 mL K per acre.  To the wheat we also added 80 mL per acre of the copper and the canola we added 80 mL of the sulphur product.

We applied 20-20-0-0 @ 73 lbs per acre on all of our oats and malt barley and added 500 mL N, 350 mL P and 350 mL of K per acre of Vantage Ag’s liquid products.  All of Vantage Ag’s liquid products were added to the sprayer tank with either a herbicide or fungicide depending on application timing.

Like most areas this year we had a cool start to the season and lots of heat at flowering time so our yields in our area were lower than we would have liked.  But compared to many other reports in the area our yields were as good or higher, especially our canola which was much higher.

We are excited to use this new fertilizer technology in the future as it helps reduce our risk, produces an amazing ROI, increases some efficiencies and is so easy to use!
